Terms of Service

1Introduction and acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Koki website at kokimoney.com, the waitlist, and related research activities — together, the “Site.” The Site is operated by Koki Money, based in Cameroon (“Koki,” “we,” “us”).

By using the Site, joining the waitlist, or taking part in Koki's research, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2About Koki

Koki is in early development. The Site explains what Koki is, lets you join a waitlist for early access, and may invite you to take part in market research, including interviews and surveys.

Koki is being built as a financial intelligence layer. Koki does not hold funds, move money, extend credit, or act as a bank, payment institution, or lender. Nothing on the Site or in Koki's research is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

3Who can use the Site

The Site and the waitlist are meant for people who have reached the age of legal majority and have contractual capacity in their jurisdiction. By using the Site, you confirm that you meet that requirement.

4The waitlist and your contact details

Joining the waitlist requires accurate contact details — your name, WhatsApp number, and email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you give us, and for telling us when something changes.

5Acceptable use

In using the Site, you agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that breaks an applicable law or regulation.
• Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection to one.
• Interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or performance of the Site.
• Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Site by automated means without our written permission.
• Submit false, misleading, or malicious information through the Site.

6Intellectual property

All Koki trademarks, logos, content, and site design belong to Koki or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission.

7Research participation and what you submit

• Taking part in any Koki interview, survey, or research activity is voluntary.
• If you take part, we ask for your separate, specific consent before recording audio or video, and again before using your name, likeness, voice, or answers in anything public, including social media.
• You can decline to be recorded or featured and still take part in an interview. You can withdraw consent for the use of your content at any time by writing to us — see Governing law and contact — though we cannot recall content that other people have already shared after it was published with your consent.
• Aggregated and de-identified research insights may continue to inform how we build Koki, even where a specific piece of your content is later withdrawn.

8Third-party links and services

The Site links to and references third-party services, including WhatsApp and social media platforms. Koki is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party service.

9What we do not promise

• The Site and any early-access materials are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Koki does not guarantee that a feature described on the Site will be built, will be built as described, or will arrive on any particular timeline.
• Nothing on the Site is financial advice. Speak to a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

10Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Koki and its founders, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or your participation in research. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

11Indemnity

You agree to hold Koki harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Site or your breach of these Terms.

12Suspension and termination

Koki may suspend or end your access to the Site or the waitlist at its discretion, including where these Terms have been broken.

13Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated version. Material changes are reflected in the effective date at the top of this page.

14Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, and by the OHADA uniform acts where they apply.
